Hello, my name is

Steven Richards

Systems Administrator, IT Technician , and Developer

Email: sbrichards@mit.edu

I am a student living in the rainy city of Seattle. I do a bit of programming, systems administration, and technical writing.

Over the past few years I have worked on open source projects in multiple communities such as Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Android, and with organizations like the FSF/GNU

In these communities I have primarily developed software and documentation. My roles in these communities have also expanded to help general users of the technologies through documentation and support.

Aside from popular projects like Ubuntu or Android I have also started my own, such as OpenRelay and Project Apollo.

OpenRelay is a network technologies project that allows for peer to peer based web hosting. This project is free (as in freedom and price) to anyone who wishes to utilize it.

Project Apollo is a data communications system I have developed which encodes audio frequencies over laser light as a messaging system; this allows two computers to communicate over a point to point based laser system.
